Set To Drop: Nike Kids' Little Posite One “Rainbow Pixel”

Your shoe size used to determine what kind of heat was designed for you to wear. Since the sneaker industry has been predominantly driven by adult male consumers, most brands followed the trend of making shoes with men in mind-- making it perfect sense to try and imitate your favorite NBA player on the court. While basketball became a universal pastime, people of all ages and gender now yearn to have footwear catered to their audience.

Growing up, kid sizes always got the short end of the stick. Smaller shoes equated to minimal features and secondary fabrics. In recent years, the Air engineered brand Nike started making cool designs for all of the little ones in the world. This decision to spearhead quality rollouts for youngsters built a demand for kids and purchasing parents to enjoy.

Behind the Design & Colorway

Nike developed the ‘Lil Posite One’ collection to add to the Flightposite & Foamposite family. With a history book of profound colorways already made, Nike wrote a new chapter inspired by its predecessor. The Nike Air Foamposite One ‘Weatherman’ colorways had a geographical appeal that is visually striking. Each design used an overview approach to show the pixelated area of precipitation, grassland, heatwave, etc. Lil Posite One instead highlights the “Rainbow Pixel” which is vastly different in the overall layout.

The shimmering white shell is molded with a chrome finish all around the wavy silhouette. Depending on where you look at the tennis shoe, you may see subtle graphics pleasantly pop out of its pristine body (similar to a soap bubble). Light smoke grey on the eyestay, tongue, collar, heel stabilizer, and shoelaces match seamlessly with the indented-grooved rubber outsole. Penny Hardaway logos found on the tongue are in mint condition. Nike swooshes however had a slight altercation to fit the shoe theme. Yes, the Nike Swoosh at the bottom kept its classic black look. Nike’s classic swooshes on the heel notch, mudguard, and padding have some glitches added to the end of the check. This electrifying glitch is synonymous with frequent lightning and thunder that comes with a rainstorm. Last but not least, blue fury, yellow gold, and orange pixels are printed underneath the outsole in rainbow fashion.

The Nike Little Posite One “Rainbow Pixel” is out on 05/02/2020 on www.dtlr.com and at local DTLR locations.
