The Nike Doernbecher Freestyle 21 Collection is Coming Soon
Published:January 13, 2026
The power of creativity meets the spirit of giving once again with the upcoming Nike Doernbecher Freestyle 21 Collection, set to arrive later this month. This annual release goes far beyond footwear – it’s a celebration of courage, imagination, and the incredible impact young designers can have when given a global platform.
Since 2004, Nike has partnered with Oregon Health & Science University Doernbecher Children’s Hospital to bring the Doernbecher Freestyle program to life. Over the last two decades, this meaningful collaboration has raised more than $44 million, directly supporting children and families in need while funding groundbreaking pediatric care and research. Each year, six Doernbecher patients are invited to reimagine iconic Nike silhouettes, transforming their personal stories into wearable works of art.
The Doernbecher Freestyle 21 Collection continues that legacy with six powerful footwear designs, each infused with the unique voice and vision of its young creator. Khovny Vignery puts a fresh, expressive spin on the Nike V2K Run, while Molly Bell reinterprets comfort and performance through her take on the Nike Vomero Plus. Classic style meets heartfelt storytelling in Oli Fasone-Lancaster’s version of the Nike Air Force 1 '07, proving that even the most iconic silhouettes can carry deeply personal meaning.
Innovation takes center stage with Raegan Scheid’s bold redesign of the Nike Air Max Dn8, while Sergio Cano Marquez channels energy and individuality into the unmistakable Nike Air Max Plus. Rounding out the collection is Zach Rumbaugh’s reimagined Air Jordan 17, a silhouette rooted in basketball heritage and elevated through powerful personal symbolism.
Beyond footwear, this year’s collection also includes two apparel styles that thoughtfully blend design elements from each child’s sneaker, creating a cohesive story across the entire lineup. Every detail – from color choices to graphic accents – reflects resilience, optimism, and the individuality of each designer.
Most importantly, every purchase supports the mission of Doernbecher Children’s Hospital. All profits help fund critical care for families facing financial hardship, provide access to specialized treatments not available elsewhere in the region, and advance research that improves pediatric care worldwide.
Will you be looking to cop? The Nike Doernbecher Freestyle 21 Collection will be available in-store at select DTLR locations on Saturday, January 17th.
