The Wait Is Almost Over: New Balance 990v6 “Grey” Arrives This Month

The highly-anticipated New Balance 990v6 was first teased back in 2021 by Aimé Leon Dore–founder and creative director of New Balance’s “MADE in USA” line, Teddy Santis. The sneaker didn’t launch that year, however, as it appears the Boston-based footwear brand wanted to wait until 2022, which marks the 40th anniversary of the 990 series.
Done in the brand’s quintessential “Grey” colorway, the upcoming New Balance 990v6 is set to arrive in breathable mesh, supple suede, and smooth leather. Side panels are decorated with ribbed “N” overlays, similar to the overlays found on the New Balance 990v3. Further branding includes “990” hits at the lateral heels, “MADE in USA” lettering at the heels, and “New Balance 990v6” insignias on the padded, perforated tongues.
Down below, this new silhouette boasts a tri-density EVA foam midsole unit, composed of both FuelCell and ENCAP technologies. The cushioning system sits atop sturdy rubber outsole units.
The New Balance 990v6 “Grey” will release at select DTLR stores on November 4th in full-family sizing.
