The Upcoming DTLR-Exclusive New Balance 1000 “1000 Yards” Honors HBCUs

Diversity and inclusivity are at the heart of everything we do here at DTLR, and our continued support for Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) is a testament to that fact. Since 2001, we’ve hosted countless community outreach events at HBCUs across the country, including Howard University, Morgan State University, Bowie State University, and Delaware State University, among others.

Our latest collaboration with New Balance is a physical representation of our partnerships with HBCUs, which empower and inspire students from coast to coast. This homage is as lively as the campuses we strive to benefit, as we dress the sleek 1000 silhouette in a green and gold scheme inspired by and dedicated to every HBCU across the country.

The New Balance 1000 “1000 Yards” features a leather upper dipped in dark green. Golden accents evoke a triumphant mood while touches of black, white, and grey give the sneaker an ultrawearable sensibility.

Down below, foam midsoles add comfort to each step, with ABZORB cushioning pods providing additional support to the forefoot and heel portions. Rubber outsoles add much-needed traction for long walks on campus.
