The Air Jordan 1 “Black Toe” Goes Low

When it comes to Air Jordan 1 colorways, nothing compares to the classics. And one of those classic colorways that often gets overlooked is the “Black Toe” Air Jordan 1. While it’s not as popular as the “Chicago” or “Bred” iterations, the “Black Toe” is an icon in basketball history, nonetheless. Jordan wears this specific colorway in some of the most iconic photos of that era, including the beloved skyline-dunk image.

The “Black Toe” Air Jordan 1 was last released back in 2016 in its original high-top form. And while it’s unclear when that iteration will come back, Jordan Brand is preparing a low-top version to hold you over.

Set to land later this month, the Air Jordan 1 Retro Low OG “Black Toe” features a white leather upper with black leather mudguards, eyestays, and Swoosh overlays. The padded nylon tongues, laces, and sockliners are also done in black, while bright “Varsity Red” leather covers the heel portions of the sneaker. The low-top is branded minimally, with Nike Air tags on the tongues and Wings logos printed on the heels.

The upper sits atop white rubber midsole units, which house hidden Air pods. Rubber outsoles are given a “Varsity Red” paint job, completing the look.
