Set To Drop: Air Jordan Retro 4 'Purple Metallic'

This Air Jordan Retro 4 colorway is a pure gem.

Jordan brand strives on storytelling. They do this by bringing big moments to life or honoring the historic past of his Airness through new colorways. As we’ve seen before, they put OG color schemes on other shoes or new styles to bring different eras together or tie moments from different shoes into one. Now, JB is honoring one of the lesser-known packs from the early days of the brand by bringing the classic color schemes to the Jordan Retro 4.

Back in 1986, Jordan Brand released four different Jordan 1’s in all white with metallic accenting colors. While these were never worn by MJ on the court, sneakerheads still deem these as classics and highly coveted because they’ve only released once. If you’re an OG collector and you still have these in good shape, then you truly have a diamond in the rough. The four different colors of the pack were Metallic Purple, Red, Green, and Orange.

Behind Colorway

Now, Jordan Brand is bringing those classic colors to a group of Retro 4’s just in time for Spring. The first pair to release is the White and Metallic Purple Retro 4. Dropping in classic form, this Retro features a clean White leather upper that is accented by Metallic Purple on the eyelets, Jumpman logo on the tongue and on the heel of the shoe. Whether you appreciate the OG’s and storytelling or not, this pair is one you won’t want to pass up.

The Air Jordan 4 Retro “Purple Metallic” will be available on 05.20.20 online and at select DTLR stores.
