Set To Drop: Air Jordan 4 'Tour Yellow'

One of the most coveted Air Jordan designs is back and in a just as coveted colorway. Back in August 2006, a pair of all-yellow Air Jordan IV’s dropped exclusively online in a limited production run. Since then, much like every other limited release, the pair have maintained an above $1,000 aftermarket value leaving most average collectors and sneakerheads out of the mix from ever obtaining the coveted pair, until now. On Saturday, August 28th the Air Jordan IV Retro drops again in the infamous “Lightning” colorway.

It’s obvious where the shoe earns its “Lightning” nickname as the entire uppers are colored in Tour Yellow. The buttery suede gives this pair a premium look to match the hype surrounding the shoe. Dark Blue Grey is used on the plastic grate, lace holders, and sole providing a nice touch of contrast. The White midsole also provides a good balance between the Tour Yellow and Dark Blue Grey. The tongue also sports Tour Yellow with a Dark Blue Grey patch which features the Jumpman logo with “Flight” underneath. A Dark Blue Grey Jumpman can be found on the back of the heal to complete the look.

Overall, while these are bold, they are extremely clean and well-done. I imagine that the hype that surrounded the 2006 release will also be buzzing around this drop as well. The pair drops in a full-size family run with the men’s pairs retailing for an even $200.
