Set To Drop: Air Jordan 11 Low “Legend Blue”
Published:April 20, 2021
Legend tells it, the history of the hue of blue dates back to 1996. It’s the NBA All-Star Game and the whole world was still wondering “If I could be like Mike?” one day. Shaquille O’Neal, Penny Hardaway, Reggie Miller, Grant Hill, and Patrick Ewing and just a few of the 90’s greatest players who were ready to secure a W for the Eastern Conference. Out of all of the stars playing on the biggest stage, MJ easily eclipsed everyone with his perfectly timed fade-aways, acrobatic layups, and soaring dunks. Waiting for the announcer to call his name, Michael sat with anticipation in his Chicago Bulls warm-up uniform. Yes, the suit was Red and Black, but the sneakers were another matter completely.
Matching well with the Turquoise All-Star uniforms was the Air Jordan 11 “Columbia” that Jordan had on his feet. Prior releases showed a clear translucent sole, but this new colorway sole had a florescent Blue hue that was instantly jaw-dropping to millions of viewers. After making history once again by capturing MVP honors, the shoe was released in stores which caused instant pandemonium. With this year marking the 25th anniversary of the “Columbia” debut, Brand Jordan is ready to celebrate with a revamped version of a fan favorite. This goes around, the high top is cut down into a low-top (similar to its 2014 release). The White leather build is icy, with a woven mesh tongue. Black is instantly seen on the collar, with “23” printed on the heel notch. Right below that is an embroidered ‘Jumpman’ logo stitched on the mustache. Notorious patent leather overlays cover from heel counter to toe tip. To make the sight complete, “Legend Blue” is saved for the cool rubber outsole and coded tongue tag.
