Riding into a New Future With the PUMA "Play On" Pack

Hands down, hypebeasts managed to create a demand for sneakers unlike any other. The newfound interest in athletic kicks caused an obvious increase in everyday people tapping into the culture. It isn’t just holy grails that grabbed the eye of consumers. It is also cool retro themes that inspired people to join the revolution.

Whether it’s a ghost gobbling video game character eating fruits for bonus points or an eyebrow-raising wrestler ready to put the smackdown, branding is everything. When brands are prevalent figures in the public eye, most fans seek merchandise to be a part of the movement. Companies then look to plaster these name brands on toys, candy, apparel, and now sneakers.

Behind the Design

PUMA is being very interactive with the “Play On” pack. To speak to the gamer in you, this color pallet is fun-filled. Dazzling Blue fills the toe vamp, while Lime Green is seen right above. One strip of pink underlines the white midsole, with a matching rectangular box placed near the heel counter. High-risk red accents are tagged with the Puma text logo.

This low top is laced with clean synthetic blends and materials versatile at the touch. Puma went back to their 80’s style Rider Foam to give vintage fanatics a blast from the past. Old school cushioning goes along well with the multi-surface bubble gum soles. Overall, the shoe is casual with a glimpse of charisma.

The Puma “Future Rider” drops on 2/22/2020 on www.dtlr.com and at local DTLR/VILLA locations.
