DTLR Celebrates Hispanic Heritage Month in North Philly with Danny Garcia

On October 11th, DTLR brought the community together at our Hunting Park store in North Philadelphia to honor Hispanic Heritage Month with an afternoon full of culture, connection, and celebration.

The event drew an incredible crowd from Philly’s Spanish-speaking community, coming together to celebrate their roots and uplift one another through music, food, and giving back. Guests enjoyed delicious treats from local favorite Cielito Dulce, while DJ Wreckless kept the energy high with classic and contemporary Latin hits that had everyone moving.

In true DTLR fashion, we showed love to our community with free Hispanic Heritage Month t-shirts for attendees and an unforgettable moment of giving. Twelve deserving students from the Hunting Park Recreation Center were surprised with brand-new coats courtesy of Pro Standard — a small gesture that brought big smiles.

The highlight of the day came when Philly’s own world champion boxer, Danny Garcia, made a surprise appearance. Garcia didn’t just show up — he showed love. He personally gifted each student a $200 DTLR gift card, helped them shop for their favorite gear, and spent time connecting with the students and their families. Between taking photos, signing autographs, and sharing words of inspiration, Danny reminded everyone what it means to give back to the community that raised you.

To top it all off, attendees also had the chance to win free tickets to Danny Garcia’s upcoming fight, “Farewell to Brooklyn.” A few lucky winners walked away with the exclusive passes, wrapping up a day full of excitement, generosity, and pride.

At DTLR, celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month is about more than one event — it’s about recognizing the power of culture, unity, and community. North Philly showed up strong, and we’re proud to continue standing alongside the people who make it special every day.
