Coming Soon: Nike Air Max2 CB ’94 “Black and Purple”

These days, Charles Barkley is perhaps best known for his work on TNT’s Inside the NBA show, where he provides expert analysis, lighthearted banter, and trash talk in droves. But before his time in the studio, Sir Charles was a hell of a ball player, appearing in 11 All-Star Games and winning an MVP Award throughout his 16-year NBA career.

The Round Mound of Rebound also had a line of signature basketball sneakers with Nike during that time, with the most iconic silhouette being the Nike Air Max2 CB ’94. That sneaker was last released in 2021 and is slated to hit shelves again later this month.

Arriving in OG form, the upcoming Nike Air Max2 CB ’94 “Black and Purple” features a white leather upper with black nubuck-leather overlays. Metallic-silver ventilation holes peek through the nubuck to provide some much-needed breathability. And there’s no shortage of Nike branding, with embroidered lettering on the lateral quarters and “Nike Air” plastered on the heel tabs. Throw in an innovative lacing system and a “Varsity Purple” inner bootie, and you’re set.

Down below, the sneaker boasts foam midsole units sculpted in a teeth-like design. Visible Max Air bubbles in the heels offer additional support. The colorway is complete with black rubber outsoles.

Need a pair? The Nike Air Max2 CB ’94 “Black and Purple” will be available Wednesday, August 23rd, on DTLR.com and at DTLR stores.
