Read on to find out how Tim Caver champions Atlanta.
Tim is a self taught photographer and graphic designer with a background in audio production. He comes from a long line of creatives and have always had a passion for art.
How did you get started off being a photographer?
I’ve always been interested in photography and it the role it’s played in marketing; I started working as a graphic designer for a branding company based out of San Diego, and realized how integral photography was to the process so I decided to learn how to shoot. I bought my first DSLR in May, fell in love with portraiture and haven’t looked back since.
What does the champion brand mean to you?
Champion is one those rare timeless brands that transcends social and cultural barriers. I wore a vintage Champion crewneck throughout college, and thought I was so cool because of it. I love that the brand has maintained its status as an essential streetwear staple, from the sneakers to the clothes. It’s both retro and futuristic, which is dope.
Who would be your dream creative / artist to collaborate with? (living or dead)
My dream creative collaboration would be with Pharrell Williams. I grew up skateboarding and making music and was always blown away by his creative genius. I think he’s a multidimensional visionary and that’s what I aspire to be.
Any advice to someone who is trying to break into the creative industry?
My advice to anyone trying to break into the creative industry is to do what truly makes you happy. Every thing you create won’t resonate with everyone so instead of worrying about pleasing everyone, worry about doing what pleases you. Create your lane and own it!
