Back to School with DTLR & New Balance: Fresh Cuts, Fresh Fits, Fresh Starts

On Friday, August 22nd, DTLR and New Balance came together at the New Balance Wellness Suite inside KIPP Philadelphia Academy to host a special Back to School Haircuts & Giveaways Event for local students and families.

The one-day community event brought out hundreds of families preparing for the new school year. Students were treated to free haircuts, hairstyles, and nail services, ensuring they could head back to class looking and feeling their best. The New Balance Wellness Suite was buzzing with energy as barbers and stylists worked nonstop to give each student a fresh start.

In addition to grooming services, DTLR and New Balance provided students with the essentials to step confidently into the new school year. Over the course of the day, the team gave away 100 brand-new New Balance backpacks and outfitted select families with 50 pairs of New Balance sneakers. The combination of fresh gear, new shoes, and self-care services created a complete back-to-school experience that went beyond just supplies—it was about giving kids the confidence to succeed.

The event not only provided necessities but also created a positive, uplifting atmosphere where families could connect and celebrate the upcoming school year together. Smiles and gratitude filled the room as kids left with new shoes on their feet, backpacks on their shoulders, and fresh cuts and styles to match.
