Behind the Sneaker
New Balance released the 575 model in 1986, adding the 576 model to its line two years later. Once designers realized the sneaker culture in America become increasingly more comfort-oriented, they crafted a new model capturing the elements of the 575 and 576 models, respectively. Thus, the 574 model was born, a hybrid of two solid sneakers.
When the New Balance 574 model initially came out, it gained popularity across the nation due to its design, appealing comfort, and affordability. At the time, New Balance did not want any big budget marketing or celebrity endorsements--the shoe spoke for itself.
New Balance is proudly manufactured in the United States, with corporate headquarters based in Boston, Massachusetts.
